Francis has worked in the personal development field for over twenty years. She is a qualified psychotherapist and has been a trainer and management coach for such London institutions as the BBC, the Bank of England, Standard Chartered, the Stock Exchange and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. She is the author of Intelligent Emotion: How to Use Your Feelings to Transform Your Life (published by Heinemann).

She was course Director of Personal Development Programmes at City University, London for four years, running training courses for City companies, developing synergistic relationships between Education and the corporate world and helping to develop the Cultural Industries to from a Cultural Triangle in the East End.

Prior to coming to Malaysia in early 2008, she was a Lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where she pioneered the training of counseling and emotional literacy. Her clients included Ernst and Young, John Keells Group, and Trinity College, Kandy.

Frances lives and works in Penang but frequently travels to Kuala Lumpur and beyond to deliver training for the British Council. The PDU has been fortunate to have Frances revise several existing courses in themes such as Assertiveness, Leadership and Coaching, Counseling and Mentoring and to write new courses in topics like Stress Management and Emotional Intelligence.
